June 12-A fire of undetermined origin at a home in the 900 block of Southwest 132nd Street sent flames shooting into the sky just after midnight.
Burien/Normandy Park firefighters took a defensive approach because of concerns the roof could give way.
A man living in the house made it out safely.
Firefighters said a neighbor who called 9-1-1 also helped to get another neighbor out safely.
There was no immediate damage estimate, although the loss was described as "substantial."
SeaTac
SeaTac firefighters used their boots on June 15 to help area adults and children with neuromuscular diseases in the 53rd annual "Fill the Boot" drive.
The money raised by SeaTac firefighters will support Muscular Dystrophy Association research, clinic services, equipment and a week-long summer camp for kids free of charge by the MDA.
"Fill the Boot" events throughout King County will contribute more than $150,000 to these services this year alone.
Firefighter's banding together, raising millions yearly nationwide, have become the association's number one non-corporate contributor.
