No one at your paper has mentioned the take-over by the homosexuals and their followers in our state Legislature. All our Highline-area legislators voted to create a type of homosexual marriage in Washington state and Gov. Gregoire signed it into law.
It is called domestic partnership and gives same-sex couples the advantage of marriage without the negative income tax consequences. All they have to do is register with the Secretary of State. I suppose to correct this inequity they will want to just convert it to regular marriage.
All these legislators were voted into office by many people who disagree that homosexual acts are moral and that the state government should encourage such behavior.
It is not just the last 200 years in America that homosexual behavior has been considered a sin. It has been that way for thousands of years in most religions of the world. Muslims, Jews and most Christians agree on this issue.
Do voters realize that, as I understand it, Rep. Dave Upthegrove (D-Des Moines) is a homosexual man? Would they vote for him anyway and allow him to push for and win their cause? Would people have voted for Sen. Karen Keiser (D-Des Moines) or for Sen. Erik Poulsen (D-West Seattle) if they knew the senators would vote to bless homosexual marriage?
They could have used some of the tax money for those confused teenagers who think it would be cool to have all the sex they want.
The Legislature also voted to require all school districts to use the same sex education curriculum. That curriculum promotes homosexuality, barely mentions abstinence, and marriage is not mentioned at all.
I hope people are more informed and make better choices in the future when voting for elected officials.
