Patrons at a Junction restaurant cheered when officers arrested a man who had hit the bartender in the face with a beer bottle. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
Sneaking away from a senior night "sleepover" in the parking lot of West Seattle High School on Friday, approximately 20 students found their way to the Charlestown Street
hill and painted it with slogans. The paint was so thick and wet that officers couldn't get their car up the hill and had to call for the Seattle Department of Transportation to block access to the road. The students, most of whom ran when officers appeared, were interviewed and released.
Officers assisted an agitated man who was spotted walking around in traffic in the 4600 block of 35th SW. He told them that he was simply practicing his Brazilian martial arts moves, but admitted that he had run out of his medication awhile back. A routine records check showed he was wanted by the Pierce County Sheriff's Office on a felony robbery warrant. He was booked into King County Jail.
A fellow driver didn't appreciate another who was waiting for a pedestrian to cross near the Jefferson Square Safeway. The suspect, who drove an early '80s black Escort or Civic, followed the courteous driver around the neighborhood, finally stoping to threaten him by saying, "If I see you in the neighborhood again, I'll slit your throat."
After seeing a pedestrian cross against a traffic light, officers stopped him for a chat. He lied about his identity (which got him arrested), but it also turns out he was wanted for failing to appear on a first-degree arson warrant worth $15,000. He was booked into a cell and, for safety's sake, officers took his shoelaces, thinking he might be at risk for suicide. When they checked on him a bit later, the man had removed his sock and was trying to strangle himself. He told them that he simply wanted to die.
Two young men, ages 20-30, approached a developmentally disabled teen at a bus stop and stole a plastic bag of belongings. The girl was particularly upset since the bag contained special items given to her by teachers to celebrate her graduation from high school.

Four domestic violence incidents and four car prowls were reported in greater West Seattle last week.
