Discover Financial Services is proud to announce that Seri Hyun, a Federal Way, WA high school student is one of 300 state winners of a 2007 Discover Card Tribute Award Scholarship and will receive a $2,500 award.
State winners are selected from all applicants based on overall excellence in the areas of leadership and community service while successfully overcoming a hardship or challenge.
All winners maintained a minimum 2.75 cumulative grade point average to qualify.
"For more than fifteen years, The Discover Card Tribute Award Scholarship Program, has positively impacted the lives of thousands of young adults by helping them achieve their dream of continuing their education and reach their future goals. We are proud of our winners and the contributions they make in their communities," said David Nelms, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Discover Financial Services.
To date, the Discover Card Tribute Award Scholarship Program has awarded more than $14 million in scholarships to over 6,000 students nationwide.
Once the student graduates high school, scholarship funds may be applied to costs for college, university, specialized training or education beyond high school.
