South King County happenings on the Fourth of July

Today is America's 231st birthday, and a lot of celebrating will be going on in South King County communities.
Here's a look at what's happening.
Burien
The Fourth of July Family Days begins at 10 a.m. and continues until 8 p.m.
The downtown celebration along Southwest 152nd Street at Sixth Avenue Southwest, will feature bicycle races, kid's games, entertainment for all ages, arts and crafts booths, and food vendors.
The 84th annual Burien Independence Day Parade will loop around Southwest 152nd and 153rd streets beginning at 3 p.m.
This long-time community tradition, sponsored by the Southwest King County Chamber of Commerce, will feature drill teams, a marching band, floats, antique cars, special entries and dignitaries.

Des Moines
The Waterland community's seventh annual 4th of July celebration-highlighted by Fireworks Over Des Moines-begins at 4 p.m. at the marina.
Fireworks will be launched from the pier, where they will reflect on Puget Sound, at 10:15 p.m.
Kids' activities include the Bounce House and games, sponsored by the Des Moines Parks and Recreation Department. Admission is $5.
Concerts will feature Buck & Elizabeth at 7 p.m., and The Billy Shew Band at 8:30 p.m.
Food concessions will be sold on-site.
A unique dining experience-VIP Dining on the Deck-will raise funds for Destination Des Moines' community improvement programs.
A $35 ticket includes dinner served by Tillicum Village between 7:30 and 9 p.m., front-row seating for the concerts, entry to the children's games and VIP seating for viewing the fireworks.
Tickets are on sale at Snure Law Offices, Eva's Treasures by the Sea and Des Moines Drug.

SeaTac
Angle Lake Park, 19408 International Blvd. S., will stay open late for those wanting to view the licensed fireworks display sponsored by private homeowner associations. SeaTac police will patrol city parks and issue citations to those discharging personal fireworks, which are banned in SeaTac.
Tukwila
Tukwila's Family Fourth at the Fort begins at 4 p.m. at Fort Dent Park with kids' activities, including inflatable bouncers, face painting, stilt walkers, roving clowns, slides, a climbing wall, and miniature golf.
Families can bring their own picnic or enjoy food from approved vendors.
Entertainment is scheduled from 4-9 p.m.
Fireworks start promptly at 10:15 p.m.

Museum of Flight
At 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., members of Skyway Post 9430 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars will present a salute to the American flag-all 27 versions that have officially represented the United States. The museum is located at 9404 E. Marginal Way S. in Tukwila.
Seattle
The annual Fourth of Jul-Ivar's event will be limited to a fireworks display beginning at 10 p.m. above Seattle's Elliott Bay. The Times/News' Celebrations of Summer section incorrectly indicated there would a full day of activities.
