An unwelcome surprise

On 20th SW, a man with diminished mental capacity lives in an unsupervised group home and has a habit of hiding in the bushes and jumping out, startling passersby on the sidewalk. He has also been known to run around the yard naked. Neighbors are documenting the incidents, hoping that the man will be moved to a supervised facility.
In South Park, an 85-year-old man was tied with an extension cord by a robber who entered his home and demanded his money and wallet. The suspect, a white male in his late 20s, had red facial hair, tan gloves, and a multicolored knit stocking cap. He escaped with $135, a shotgun, and a rifle.
A 94-year-old woman was scammed by two men who appeared at her door, explained that dead branches on her tree could fall on passersby and that she'd be sued. They offered to trim the tree and clean her gutters for $140. After snipping a few branches they left and never returned. The check was cashed.
On SW Findlay, a 93-year-old woman heard a knock at the door and found an Asian male who claimed to be her paperboy letting himself in. The stranger tried several ruses to get money (to no avail) and then asked to use the bathroom (entering it before the woman could give permission). She searched her house after he left and found nothing missing. He wore a white T-shirt, jeans, and had a "clean appearance" and a crew cut.
While attending a wedding reception, a local woman was allegedly drugged by someone who dosed her drink when she left to use the bathroom. She was then taken to an apartment near the beach, where she was raped by two men. Regaining consciousness, she ran screaming into the neighborhood, where a woman helped her and called 911. The victim was taken to Harborview for treatment.
On July 4th, in 85-degree weather, a citizen reported two dogs locked in a car in a Lincoln Park parking lot. The animals were in obvious distress, but the owner could not be found, despite officer efforts and announcements inside the park. When the owner did appear, he claimed he had been gone for only 45 minutes. In reality, it had been two hours since the initial report.
Tuesday afternoon, a white male in his late 40s robbed the Alaska Junction Wells Fargo Bank. He was about 5 feet 9 inches tall, had a medium build, and wore sun glasses, a baseball cap, a blue Mariners' jacket and blue jeans.
Friday afternoon, a white male in his 40s, with a mustache, reflective sunglasses and black baseball cap labeled "Buick" robbed the Washington Federal Savings and Loan on 42nd SW.

Nine domestic violence incidents and two car prowls were reported in greater West Seattle last week.
