The Federal Way Police Department is continuing its search for information regarding a newborn baby boy discovered dropped off at a local Federal way church, located at 2415 S. 320th St.
The note accompanying the baby indicated his name is Jayden. Also with Jayden was a blanket the note stated that it was made by Jayden's great-grandmother.
The writer of the note indicated that they wanted Jayden to have the blanket as a family heirloom.
The note was typed with the date of birth written in by hand.
According to the Federal Way Police, the baby was left at the doorstep near the entrance to the church daycare in a basket sometime between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Accompanying the child was a note indicating the baby was born on July 2.
The baby is in good health and has been transported to a local hospital for evaluation by medical staff as well as Child Protective Services.
The Federal Way Police Department said its main concern is in the welfare of the child and his mother.
The goal in identifying the mother is to provide her with the proper post-natal care she may need.
