With the public sale of the first Burien Town Square condominiums not set to begin until July 25, nearly half of the units already have already been spoken for.
According to Kim Sharpe-Jones, marketing manager for Miller Condominium Marketing, earnest money equal to 5 percent of the purchase price has been placed on 52 of the 124 Phase One condos.
Prices range from the $200,000s to the $600,000s.
The units feature five basic floor plans-studio, one bedroom, two bedroom, live-work lofts and two-level stacked townhouses.
Located on the southwest side of the planned development on Southwest 152nd Street and Fifth Avenue Southwest, the condos will be west of Town Square's park plaza and the Burien City Hall/King County Library complex.
Buyers will be signing real estate contracts in the next few weeks, Sharpe-Jones said.
Developers hosted a private reception for buyers and VIPs on July 10 at the new Town Square sales office, located across 152nd Street from the development.
The 4,000 square-foot presentation center at 455 S.W. 152nd Street will open its doors to the public on July 25.
Open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., lenders will on hand during weekends.
The sales office includes a 10-foot by 12-foot scale model of Town Square and an 850-square-foot model of a one-bedroom plus den condo unit.
A mock deck features a mural prominently displaying Mount Rainier to approximate the view from these condominiums.
Town Square marketers are also in "deep negotiations" with national and local retailers for the lease of spaces on the condominiums' ground level, according to Dani Kirkland, senior associate for commercial broker CB Richard Ellis.
Although she said she couldn't name retailers until contracts are signed, Kirkland revealed the types of businesses interested.
They include juice and coffee bars, hair salons and spas, a holistic pharmacy and sit-down restaurants serving steak and Northwest eclectic cuisine.
Kirkland noted the businesses are similar to the ones at the Kent Station development.
With about 70,000 square feet of retail space in Phases One and Two, Town Square will also include offices and live-work-spaces, she added.
Kirkland expects to start announcing specific businesses in two months.
