Saturday, July 21, is the last day for mail-in voter registrations and registration transfers for the Aug. 21 primary election.
Washington's primary has been moved by the Legislature from August to September to allow more time for recounts and mailing overseas absentee ballots for the general election.
All registered voters should have received a primary reminder post card from the Washington Secretary of State's office.
Primary election races will be for city councils, school boards, other special district officers and local ballot issues.
Absentee ballots for the primary will be mailed on Aug. 3. The last day for in-person registrations and transfers for the primary is Aug. 6.
The King County League of Women Voters South will answer questions about local issues and positions on the ballot. Call the League at 206-243-7161 or e-mail WALWVKCS@juno.com.
Information about voter registration and Highline-area races also is available from King County Elections at www.metrokc.gov/elections/.
