Saying she was "bored," a 14-year-old girl decided to pass the time by standing at the bus stop at 35th and Thistle, and baring her buttocks to passing drivers. She got a ride to her grandmother's house from Seattle police officers and may face criminal charges.
In the Admiral Way repaving zone, an impatient man driving a gray Chevy Impala ignored a flagger's orders to stop. Instead he moved his car forward, striking the flagger in the leg. He then yelled a few obscenities and drove off. The car is registered to a Charlestown-area address.
On Saturday morning, near 17th and Roxbury, a man leapt from a second-floor apartment window and ran when a new acquaintance waved a meat cleaver over his head, threatened to turn him into "a blood stain on the carpet," and demanded all of his money. The victim flagged down an officer and reported the incident. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of robbery.
Though he suffered puncture wounds on his neck, arm and left side, a South Park resident was able to drive himself to the hospital after he confronted a car prowler near 10th and Cloverdale. The suspect escaped.
A deaf and mute young man who also has mental disabilities caused some concern at a local facility when he wrote a note to staff and made "machine gun" gestures toward them. His mother and mental health professionals reassured the victims and officers that the 17-year-old is a child emotionally, has never been violent and has no access to weapons of any kind. He does love military TV shows and likes to pretend he is protecting an actress he is fond of. Mom used sign language to let the young man know that what he did was wrong and that he could never return to the facility. He indicated that he understood and that he would stay away.
