Last Tuesday, during our West Seattle block party, my elderly neighbor decided she wanted to go to the store and get a salad for her contribution. She had had some car trouble earlier so we were a little worried about her getting there and back.
Sure enough, after the block party started a strange car rolled into her driveway and some people I didn't recognize were helping her get out of their car. Apparently she got halfway to the store when the car died again.
In comes our Good Samaritan. This gentleman and his friends not only gave her a ride home, but called Triple A on their account and met the technician back at the car. He diagnosed the problem as a low battery and a blown fuse. After discovering that Schucks didn't have the fuse they needed the technician put in a temporary fix and the Good Samaritan drove my neighbor's car home while the technician followed.
They then explained the situation to me so I could let my neighbor know what was going on and to see if she wanted to have her battery replaced. Before I could turn to go talk to her the Good Samaritan pulled out his credit card and paid the technician.
Myself and the technician were kind of stunned that he would do this without even hesitating. So I wanted to let everyone know there are some pretty good people in our neck of the woods. By the way, one of his friends let it slip before he ducked out that he owns the photo place down on California so if you're in the area stop in and let him know that he's appreciated.
