Former Burien City Councilman Stephen Lamphear will take on current Councilman Gordon Shaw in the November general election for Shaw's seat.
Lamphear and Shaw were the top two vote getters for Position 4 in Tuesday's primary election.
North Highline annexation foe J. Fulop finished third.
Lamphear outpolled the incumbent with 1,054 votes (40.11 percent) in unofficial early Wednesday morning returns. Shaw received 980 votes (37.29 percent) and Fulop, 578 votes (21.99 percent.)
King County Elections reported 99,41 percent of precincts were counted in the unofficial vote count. King County will continue to update returns by 4:30 p.m. each weekday at http://www.metrokc.gov/elections/200708/results.asp.
The election will be certified on Sept. 5.
In Tukwila, Kathy Hougardy (429 votes, 53.63 percent) and Brian P. Kennedy (225 votes, 28.13 percent) will vie for former Pam Carter's city council seat in the November election. DeSean Quinn received 141 votes (17.63 percent.)
Burien City Councilman Jack Block Jr. failed in his bid to follow his father onto the Port of Seattle Commission. Block finished fourth in a six-person race with 13,278 votes (11.20 percent.)
Challenger Gael Tarleton (37,209 votes, 31.9 percent) outpolled incumbent Bob Edwards (3,3172 votes, 27.98 percent.) They will be on the ballot again in the general election.
Incumbent Alec Fisken (50,536 votes, 43.53 percent) will face challenger Bill Bryant (34,129 votes, 29.40 percent) for port position 5 in November.
The port operates Sea-Tac International Airport.
In the Democratic Party primary for King County Council District 8, incumbent Dow Constantine (9,651 votes, 90.84 percent) easily beat challenger Goodspaceguy Nelson (944 votes, 8.89 percent.) Constantine will run against John Potter, who was unopposed in the Republican primary.
Voters approved a 6-year property tax levy lid lift for South King Fire and Rescue. The department serves Des Moines and Federal Way.
The lid lift was approved by 7,848 voters (69.37 percent) while opposed by 3,466 voters (30.63 percent.)
William (Bill) Gates (4,065 votes, 43.63 percent) will run against Gary C. Bollinger (3,657 votes, 39.25 percent) in the general election for commissioner position 1 in the district.
Voters agreed to continue the existing property tax levy rate for the North Highline Fire District. The levy received 1,363 votes (74.44 percent) with 468 votes (25.56 percent) opposing it.
