The Burien/Normandy Park Fire Department will hold its annual open house on Saturday, September 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
During the event at the main station at 15100 Eighth Ave. S. in Burien, firefighters will demonstrate their skills in emergency automobile extrication and high-angle rope rescue.
The Normandy Park Police will offer free fingerprint I.D. for the kids, who can also practice escaping from a burning house, squirt a fire hose, and answer safety questions for prizes.
Kids can meet the fire department's accelerant-sniffing dog and the Mariner Moose.
Balloons, fire hats and safety information will be handed out.
This year the department will include $7 custom bike helmet fittings and car seat safety checks in the morning.
