At 16th and Holden, a man was stopped for a traffic violation. But it seems he was driving with a suspended license. His female passenger displayed her valid license to the officer and offered to drive the man and his car home. But her friendly gesture hit a snag when a records check showed that she was wanted on a $10,000 warrant after failing to appear in court on a prostitution charge. So off she went to King County Jail.
Seen in front of an Alki bar/restaurant: one woman hanging out a car door vomiting into the gutter and another, seemingly unable to walk, being assisted into the same car by a sober friend. After taking in this festive tableau, an officer paid a visit inside the establishment, reminding the bartender and bar manager about the laws regarding "over service."
A man walked into a Junction bar, approached a stranger and said, "Come with me." When she refused, he slapped her on the face, pushed her to the ground and kicked her. Another woman tried to stop him, but he struck her with a closed fist several times. A third patron stepped in and, as the altercation moved to the alley, the suspect was finally restrained and held to the ground until officers arrived. Already under Department of Corrections supervision, the suspect is considered a violent offender. He was booked into King County Jail for investigation of three counts of assault.
After seeing reports of a magazine salesman that attacked a Seattle resident, a West Seattle couple provided officers with images from their home security system, which recorded a visit by a man who matched the description of the suspect.
At 10th and Elmgrove, officers stopped a woman for a pedestrian violation. A records check showed she was wanted on a $5,000 DUI warrant, so she was transported to King County Jail.
A car leaving the scene of a downtown shooting early Sunday was traced to an address on 16th SW. Officers surrounded the building and took a 21-year-old man (who was already under supervision of the Department of Corrections) into custody.
Following an argument at the Junction, a 24-year-old man walked across the hoods of seven parked cars, kicking and shattering their front windshields. He also hit a man in the back of the head with a bottle and tried to run away from officers. He was booked into King County Jail for investigation of malicious mischief, assault, and obstruction.
