Evergreen 66, Sumner 8
Evergreen towered above Sumner in a non-league game at Sumner played Saturday, Sept. 8. The Spartans did not score until the last touchdown of the game coming in the fourth quarter.
Nuve Kongaiaka scored the Wolverine's first touchdown in the first quarter, then Vincente Cordova followed by catching an 18-yard pass from Luther Leonard and Kyle Tunney rumbled in on a 54-yard run.
Charles Webster snagged a 15-yard touchdown pass from Leonard, then Johnny Jackson ran for two points on the first successful conversion of the game. Evergreen does not have a kicking team, and tries for two after every touchdown instead.
Cordova ran for a 25-yard touchdown after that and Kongaiaka ran for two, then Sam Williams caught a 34-yard touchdown pass from Leonard and Jackson ran for two.
Tunney struck on a 72-yard run and Kongaiaka ran for two, then Jackson scored on a 3-yard run and Kongaiaka run for two more. Jerimiah Laufausa scored the final touchdown on a 2-yard run and DeShawn Bradford ran for two points.
Del Oro, Calif. 21, JFK 7
Kennedy opened the scoring in its second game in California with a touchdown, but could not score again as Del Oro went on to win.
Tre Watson scored the Lancers' touchdown on a 12-yard pass from Eddie Faw and Karl Antush kicked the extra point.

Christian Faith took a loss on its Saturday, Sept. 8 trip to Ocean Shores to play North Beach.
Volleyball
Kennedy
The Lancers captured second place playing at the Meridian Volleyball Tournament.
JFK won, 2-0, over Concrete, Ferndale and Nooksack Valley in pool play, then sank Sehome in the quarterfinals, 2-0, and defeated Meridian, 2-0, in the semifinals. JFK then took a 2-1 loss to Edmonds-Woodway in the championship.

Kennedy scored a 25-9, 25-6, 25-5 victory over the Totems Thursday.
Bianca McCluskey had 22 assists for the Lancers as Paula Miles led with nine kills and Emily Jovanich led with eight aces. Kayleigh Fulton had seven aces, Ashley Eneliko six kills, and Marissa Bittenco six aces.
Highline 3, Renton 0
The Pirates prevailed in a 25-18, 25-14, 25-23 match against Renton. Emily Alvarez has 22 digs for Highline, while Shannyn Fisher had nine kills, Lynette Owusu 15 kills and three blocks, Samantha Erben six kills and Julia Vigen 28 assists.

Mount Rainier scored a 29-27, 25-15, 25-23 win over the Wolverines Thursday.
Christina Postnikoff had 13 assists, Melissa Yapp 12 kills, Helen Barakel 12 assists and four aces, Chelsea Miller eight kills and Kathleen Mulligan three aces.

Rachel Fullington of Evergreen took first place individually with a round of 47 played Tuesday, Sept. 11.
Jaden Johnson and Joanna Cox of Kennedy followed with respective rounds of 49 and 52.

Stephanie Corey scored 33 points to win the Tuesday, Sept. 11 match for the Rams, with teammate Kelsey Berg second with 29 and teammate Katherine Tart third with 26.

The Rams took a 25-14, 25-16, 25-22 loss to the Pirates on Tuesday, Sept. 11. Emily Alvarez had 13 digs, while Highline's Samantha Erben had seven kills and 11 digs.
Shannyn Fisher recorded 10 kills and 10 digs, and Lynette Owusu had nine kills and three blocks. Chika Ugowoaba had five aces and Julia Vigen 21 assists.
Chelsea Miller of Mount Rainier had seven kills and three blocks as Sara Kochel scored five aces and Melissa Yapp five digs.

Amy Gambill scored 12 kills, three blocks and four aces for Evergreen while Erina Togi had 14 assists, Lina Siliaga 10 assists and PJ Saletogo three aces.

Megan Valerio scored on a Grace Bender assist and Kelsey D'Andrade put in a Katelyn Webber assist. Valerio then scored unassisted before turning around to assist Megume Poetter. D'Andrade was assisted by Webber.

Shelby Kleib exploded for three unassisted goals for a hat trick Thursday and Evergreen teammate Sabrina Hunter had one unassisted goal.
