Five local seniors were honored on September 14 during the Foss Home and Village's Senior Appreciation Reception for their volunteer work.

The awardees included : Sid and Hilda Andrews (see Sept. 5, News-Tribune); Vivian Harlin, Bitterlake; Arlene Vanderklomp, Bitterlake; Relta Gray, Phinney; Jean Waldherr, Milton; Mary Lu Sansburn, Bellevue; and Polly Retzloff, Startup.

The event was held as part of Mayor Greg Nickels' Senior Appreciation Week from October 7-13. Phil Smart Jr., philanthropist and volunteer was the emcee.
