Girls swimming
SPSL Meet
Todd Beamer started the Saturday, Sept. 20 action at the Rogers High School pool off right, winning the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1 minute, 54.87 seconds.
Katie Matulich of Decatur then won the 200 individual medley in 2:11.53 with Rachel Kim of Todd Beamer second in 2:14.85.
Todd Beamer's Eryn Murphy took first in the 50 freestyle in 25.57.
Meanwhile, Angela Hansen of Decatur scored 289.05 points to win diving, with Todd Beamer's Laura Schrader second with 284.40. Jacqueline Robinson-Hamm took third for Decatur with 258.80 points.
Jessica Soria of Todd Beamer took the 100 butterfly in 1:00.18 and teammate Kelly Erickson was second in 1:02.95.
Murphy won the 100 free for Todd Beamer in 55.78 and Federal Way's Kaia Barth placed third in 56.41.
Todd Beamer also took the 200 free relay in 1:43.57 ahead of Federal Way's 1:47.48. Rachel Kim of Beamer won the 100 backstroke in 1:00.42 followed by Decatur's Matulich in 1:00.91 and Decatur's Kelsey Crowden in 1:02.50.
Boys tennis
SPSL meet
Todd Beamer took second in the team competition with 30 points in the Saturday, Oct. 21 meet behind only the 42 of Kentridge.
Thomas Jefferson finished sixth with 18, Federal Way seventh with 13 and Decatur tied Graham-Kapowsin for 12th with four points.
The top 10 singles and doubles advanced into this past weekend's West Central District meet.
Kyle Christensen placed third for Todd Beamer with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 win in the third/fifth match and Jake Stewart of Federal Way lost the fourth-sixth match, 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles, Joe Lee and Brandon Muraki of TJ won the third/fifth match for TJ by a 6-2, 6-2 score over Sean O'Bryan and Corey Zalewski of Todd Beamer.
Derek Moore and Makoa Rosa of TJ came up short in the fourth/sixth match, 6-3, 6-4. Mike Johnson and Chase Friedrich of Todd Beamer won the seventh/eighth match by coin flip over Brian Shaw and Max Ward and the Decatur duo of Alex Khudoliy and John An won by the same means in the match for ninth and 10th.
Volleyball
Decatur 3, Federal Way 2
A narrow match between the two area rivals marked the end of the season for both.
Decatur won the first game, 25-22, and lost the next two to the Eagles, 23-25, 13-25. Decatur rebounded to win the fourth, 25-15, and the fifth and deciding match, 15-11.
The Gators' TC Colon scored 16 kills, while Whitney Iwasaki had 22 digs, Nicole Mareko 12 kills and three aces, Mindy O'Meara 38 assists and Dee Tanielu 17 kills and three aces.
Trisha Paulino had 17 assists for Federal Way, while Marisa Ventura had eight kills and five aces, Paula McKenna seven kills and four blocks and Taylor Harris had five kills.
Tahoma 3, TJ 0
Thomas Jefferson was still bound for this past Saturday's SPSL tournament despite the 25-13, 25-18, 26-24 loss to Tahoma. The Raiders finished fifth with a 6-8 SPSL North record as Tahoma finished in a three-way tie for second at 10-4. Kentwood finished first at 14-0.
Rachel Eckert scored three aces for TJ in the Tuesday, Oct. 23 match against the Bears.
G-K 3, Todd Beamer 0
Todd Beamer finished with a 1-11 record in the SPSL South Division after losing the Tuesday, Oct. 23 match to Graham-Kapowsin, 25-20, 25-21, 26-24.
MacKenzie Goff and Camille Miller scored 14 kills each for the Titans.
West Central District
Thomas Jefferson
The Raiders bowed out with two losses at the West Central District tournament Friday.
Thomas Jefferson fell to Bellarmine, 25-8, 25-11, 25-10, in its opener before taking a 25-22, 25-17, 25-21 consolation loss to Bethel.

Federal Way 4, Decatur 0
Eleanor Johnson earned the shutout as the Eagles blanked the Gators Tuesday, Oct. 23.
Kendal Feider scored the first Federal Way goal off a Haley Ward assist in the 37th minute and Feider also scored the next goal on an Alleah Pac assist. Pac then scored unassisted and Kaitlyn Keyes scored off a Ward assist.
TJ 1, Tahoma 0
Mallory Murray scored the Raiders' only goal that they needed in the 24th minute off an Amy Pate assist. Megan Hilby earned the shutout.
Decatur 1, Tahoma 1
Laura Bressler scored unassisted for the Gators' goal in their Wednesday, Oct. 24 tie.
TJ 0, Kentlake 0
Megan Hilby earned the Thomas Jefferson side of a scoreless tie Thursday, Oct. 25.
G-K 2, Decatur 1
Decatur was eliminated from West Central District contention with its loss to Graham-Kapowsin last Wednesday, Oct. 31.
Rylie Buckholz scored the only goal for the Gators in the action to send the winner on as the South Puget Sound League No. 7 seed while eliminating the loser.
Boys golf
State qualifying
Broc Johnson of Todd Beamer took second place in the state qualifying tournament after the weather allowed the action at Gold Mountain continued Tuesday.
Johnson shot a 70 at the SPSL Medalist tournament the day before and that was combined with the state qualifying score of 72 for a total of 142.
Keenan Darrow of Thomas Jefferson shot a 73 and a 72 for a total of 145 points for fifth place.
The Raider boys team took fourth place with 471 points, two less then Puyallup's 469.
Girls golf
State qualifying
Stacey Blunt of Decatur tied for second in the girls SPSL medalist and state-qualyfing tournaments combined. She had a total of 153 after rounds of 78 and 75 for a 153 total.
Jayme Carbon of TJ tied for seventh with an 88 and an 87 for a 165 total.
The TJ girls finished sixth as a team with 626 points.
Football
Kentlake 35, Beamer 14
Todd Beamer's season ended with Thursday's crossover match against Kentlake.
Josh Waller scored on a 90-yard pass play from Christian Cooper and Vinny Dom kicked his first of two extra point attempts for the evening.
Jentez Drinker scored the Titans' other touchdown on a 20-yard pass from Cooper.
Sp. Lake 43, Decatur 14
Decatur palayed Spanaway Lake in its crossover game Thursday.
Chase King scored on a 92-yard kickoff return for the Gators, then struck on a 69-yard run.
Conner McFaul kicked the first PAT and Al Carlson kicked the second.
