At the request of City Councilmember Linda Kochmar, John Creighton, Port of Seattle
Commission president, and Stan Shepherd, airport noise programs manager, will give an information-only briefing on the following topics:
The Part 150 Noise Study process
Flight tracks & noise monitoring
Activation of the Third Runway
The Part 150 Noise Study is an ongoing noise and land use compatibility plan that was approved by the Federal Aviation Administration in 2002.
The process for updating the plan will begin again in 2009.
Federal Way residents interested in airport noise issues are welcome to attend the meeting, which will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 3 in Council Chambers at City Hall, 33325 8th Ave. S. Public comment will be taken.
