The Holiday Express program at Ruth Dykeman Children's Center offers individuals and businesses a way to give back to their community this holiday season.
Adopt-A-Family-You decide how large a family you can manage. Holiday Express provides all the important information (ages, genders, clothing sizes and gift suggestions). You do the shopping and also provide a minimum $50 grocery gift card or certificate for a holiday meal.
Susan Alotrico, vice-president of Community Resources, said, "There is a waiting list of families wanting to be adopted this holiday season. Sign up today."
Giving Tree-Holiday Express supplies "gift wish" tags for a Giving Tree in your business or organization. The tags list a child's age, gender and gift suggestion. Staff and/or customers pick a tag and fulfill the "wish" by returning unwrapped gifts to your business by Dec. 17.
Pick up and delivery of unwrapped gifts for Giving Trees and Adopt-A-Families will be arranged the week of December 17.
Toy Drive-Drop off unwrapped toys and other gifts at Mick Kelley's Restaurant and Bar, 435 S.W. 152nd St. in Burien, during business hours through Dec. 17 and help ensure children at Ruth Dykeman Children's Center have a joy filled holiday.
To adopt a family or receive Giving Tree tags, or if you have questions about the toy drive, contact Alotrico at 206-242-1698, ext. 142.
The Dykeman Center has played a key role in building healthy communities since 1921.
