Jaguar Invitational at Emerald Ridge
Decatur took second place at the Jaguar Invitational, scoring 143 points behind the 231.5 of Kentwood.
Tevyn Tillman won the 285-pound title with a pin at 2:46 in the final. Rad Krysa took second at 103 pounds with a loss by pin at 2:35 in the final.
Dylan Aparis was second at 145 after losing the final, 16-9, and Spencer Kabelac took a close, 4-2, loss at 152 pounds to also finish second.
Tahoma Mat Classic
Todd Beamer took fourth place with 133.5 points in the Saturday, Jan. 29 event at Tahoma High School and Thomas Jefferson came in 11th with 46.
Corey Obungen of Todd Beamer won, 11-10, at 130 pounds and David Sullivan of Todd Beamer took the 215-pound final, 3-1.

Garfield 83, Federal Way 76
Federal Way came up just short of annual 3A powerhouse Garfield in the King Hoopfest action played last Monday.
Aaron Broussard led the Eagles with 22 points as Cole Dickerson hit 18, Ian Tevis 11, Jeff Forbes 10 and Montrel Walton eight.

Boys basketball
Decatur 82, K-M 53
Michael Hale and Marcus Tibbs both connected for 20 points to lead the Gators to victory. Darious Walker added 15 points and Jerron Smith scored eight.
Kentridge 72, TJ 51
Xavyr Moss swished in 16 points for the Raiders, but they still came up short against Kentridge. Michael Hunter threw in 13 points.
Federal Way 59, Kentlake 54
Aaron Broussard struck for 17 points as the Eagles won a close game last Tuesday. Cole Dickerson contributed 15 points and Ian Tevis knocked in nine.
Beamer 66, G-K 64
Todd Beamer held off Graham-Kapowsin by two points last Tuesday, led by the 18 points of Dakin Wanquist and Bradley Williams. Evan Cook hit 12.
Girls basketball
Federal Way 58, Kentlake 49
Brittany Barrington buried 23 points to lead the Eagles past the Falcons last Tuesday. Jacqie Evenson added 15 points and Talia Walton tallied 10.
TJ 45, Kentridge 42
Thomas Jefferson emerged victorious against the Raiders last Tuesday, led by the 15 points of Sofia Malamura. Hannah Kiyohara added 13 points.
G-K 44, Beamer 26
Kaylah Scott scored 10 points as her Todd Beamer team took a loss to Graham-Kapowsin.

Gymnastics
TJ, Decatur
The Thomas Jefferson Raiders won a four-way meet last Wednesday, scoring 157.1 points ahead of the 143.7 of Kentridge. Decatur took third in the meet with 128.5 points and Sumner came in fourth with 122.4.
Anna Wallace of the Raiders won the all-around with 31.75 points, ahead of teammates Erin Chapin (31.4) and Molly Gebhardt (31.1).
Gebhardt won the bars with a 7.3 and teammates Wallace, Chapin and Desiree Minnie tied for second at 7.0. Gebhardt also took the beam with an 8.3 with Chapin and Wallace tying for second (8.35). Minnie won the floor exercise with an 8.4 ahead of teammates Jennifer McCreely (8.3) and Chapin (8.25). Wallace scored an 8.3 for second in the vault and teammate Jennifer Wamsley was third with an 8.2.
Todd Beamer
Todd Beamer's Titans also took a four-team meet last Wednesday, scoring 158.8 points ahead of Rogers (144.4), Kentwood (140.65) and Tahoma (134.0).
Cassie Peterson scored a 34.0 total for win the all-around for Todd Beamer and Kaylyn Borden took third in the bars with a 7.5.
Peterson won the beam with a 9.0 ahead of teammate Jessica Freeborn (8.8) and Peterson also won the floor with a 9.05. TJ's Laura Schrader was second in the floor with an 8.8 ahead of Borden (9.1).
Borden was the winner of the vault with a 9.1 and Peterson placed second with an 8.8.
Wrestling
Decatur 75, Federal Way 6
The Gators prevailed against the Eagles last Wednesday, with Jon Detzler posting the only Federal Way win in a forfeit situation at 215 pounds. The rest went for Decatur.
Rod Crysa won the 103 by pin in 43 seconds and Justin Hartinger took the 112 by forfeit. Joe Franco won the 119 by pin in 4:27 and Jensen Delarosa won by forfeit at 125. Tyler Thomas posted a pin in 1:43 at 130 pounds and Greg Bull won by pin in 2:40 at 135.
Eric Moerhle won a quick 55 second pin at 140 and Dylan Aparis took the 145 by pin in 57 seconds. Spencer Kabelac won, 9-7, at 152 pounds and Kieron Bronson-Doherty won by pin in 3:39 at 160. Tristan Jones won the 171 by pin in 5:38 and Darren Faber won by forfeit at 189. Tevyn Tillman of the Gators won by forfeit at 285.
Kent-Meridian 52, TJ 18
Ivan Mukomol won by pin for the Raiders at 119 pounds last Wednesday and Ian Pecoraro won by forfeit at 125. Paul Johnson won by pin in 1:52 at 152 and Ryan Kikuchi won, 6-2, at 215.
