Citizens on patrol

When two neighbors saw three 13-year-olds throwing rocks at a car near 37th and Admiral, one went in pursuit of the boys while the other called 911. Two suspects got away; a third was handed over to officers. The three are suspected in a series of rock-throwing incidents on Admiral Way and in a case where a brick was thrown through the glass door of a home in the area. Two of the boys were also involved in an "airsoft gun" offense in December. All three are West Seattle residents.
Three teen girls tried to leave a Roxbury nail shop without paying for services, punching the shop owner in the head, face and eye and struggling with her and other customers, who managed to detain the girls until officers arrived. Though all three were released to a parent or guardian, charges of assault and theft may be pending.
Near 36th and Morgan, a citizen grew suspicious seeing an unfamiliar parked car and a stranger getting in and out of it repeatedly. When officers arrived, the man wasn't there, but a computer check of the registration showed that the car belonged to a convicted felon. Officers found the man in the 3700 block of Raymond, carrying a knife, flashlight, wrench, and 15-20 keys, some of them shaved down (a common practiced with car thieves). An Edmonds resident, the man claimed to be simply walking in the area. The shaved keys were taken and placed into evidence.
In Arbor Heights, a girl held a party at her uncle's house. (He was out of town and did not know about the soiree.) Things got out of hand (the police made a surprise appearance at the event), and at some point during the proceedings someone did $6,000 damage to the uncle's car. Uncle later found cocaine in the girl's room. He brought it to the precinct for disposal and reported that she has moved out of the area.
Thursday, around 10 am, two black male teens tried to break into a High Point-area residence. But in the process they tripped an alarm and the owner heard suspicious noises and called 911. The two, wearing black baseball caps and black jackets, may have left the area with a third person driving a white Oldsmobile.
Down on Delridge, a teen called 911 when a domestic dispute with her grandma got out of hand. The operator could hear grandma in the background saying, "I'll kill you and when I catch my breath I'm going to beat you." The teen victim was waiting outside for officers, and reported that her grandma had thrown a lamp and a piggy bank at her, hit her in the face with her fist, and then grabbed a knife and came at her. Grandma refused to give a statement and was booked into King County Jail.
In North Admiral, a Metro driver reported a young man sprawled on a seat who would not wake up. Officers repeatedly shook and called out to the 15-year-old who eventually came to. He smelled of alcohol and marijuana. He was confused and unable to care for himself, and since officers had no luck contacting his parents (dad is currently incarcerated), they took him to the Spruce Street youth center.
Students told the school nurse they had found some narcotics paraphernalia near the front door of Lafayette Elementary. The principal suspects that they were left behind by some homeless citizens who have been sleeping near the school entrance at night.
