The idea of a citywide streetcar is great! But let us not forget a few important things.

- The SLUT would not have been built if it weren't for Paul Allen's group, Vulcan.

- The SLUT was a seed line. A line to get things started, and it's a good start. Yes we can continue to joke about it going from Westlake to Hooters.

- Funding will be difficult unless another large group like Allen's suddenly hemorrhages cash for the thing.

- It will not and does not relieve congestion, but rather is an economic engine for neighborhood development.

- We should be looking at future routes to be located not where there is insufficient bus service, but rather where we want to concentrate development that will occur adjacent to it.

Seattle, we can do this! Now, let's get on board!
