Should Burien look like a Police State?
I think we all want Burien to look better and bring in more business and TAX REVENUES.
How can we do that? Everyone wants to go to nice clean places that we feel good, safe and prosperous in. When we do we spend money, and lots of it.
To create that we need to remove the "crime element." How do we do that? Well, just look where the government is offering free housing, drugs, abortions and the variety of free services we give in rewarding people for not working. There you always find an abundance of crime and negative behavior.
As president Lincoln said, if you want a strong country, the government should never do for the people what they should do for themselves.
What does this have to do with traffic light photos? Well, they are sold to the public, the ones paying the wages of our public servants, as a "safety" system. They are just another form of cash revenues and we all know it. I propose we teach our children about self-control, respect and discipline by living within our budget. Children are sick of being preached to and are craving good role models.
If the city counsel wants more revenue why don't they "serve" the city better public better by removing these public assistance groups to another area of King County. I know we can never remove these services since the politicians found out long ago that whenever you concentrate groups of people on welfare you can always control their votes by scaring people by saying "they" are going to take away "your" money, services, etc. The government only has what it takes from another person.
I personally have to admit that owning a local window cleaning business for 15 years in the Burien, Normandy Park, and Shoreline areas, I have never received a traffic violation. I drive like an old fogy. But as a homeowner and business owner, I want more business and tax revenues yet I think traffic light photos are the wrong way to go.
I could be wrong, but welfare projects back east that have transformed into ownership condos. The drugs, crime and bad element vanish within a few months and the neighborhood once again flourishes, and that means TAX REVENUES.
