A fire broke out in the Charlestown Cafe's deep-fat fryer, about 5pm Monday night. The fire department was contacted immediately.
Tuesday morning, owner Larry Mellum supervised a crew that power-sprayed the damaged ceiling and walls of the kitchen near the fire's source. Mellum says he hopes to finish repairs within a few days, but that it may take longer.
