The first signs of a year-and-a-half long King County sewer improvement project at the 53rd Street pump station on Alki Avenue and 53rd appeared Tuesday. Parking is not permitted between 6am-6pm Mondays through Fridays through October 30, 2009, or two Halloweens from now! The affected area runs from 54th Street to about 50-feet north of 53rd Street on both sides of the street.
Metro bus route 37 and 53 have eliminated stops within several blocks of the sight.
