Laugh at the battle of the sexes in Lysistrata, a bawdy comedy about making love not war, which opens at Burien Little Theatre Friday, April 4.
In the show, which runs through April 27, the women of Greece make a pact to withhold their sexual favors until the men of Greece agree to stop their endless fighting.
In addition to this modern translation of the play by Aristophanes, the show has been further adapted to a 1950s setting and includes an original music score.
Lysistrata features the talents of actors Kristen Alexander, Emily Cappel, Brian Kiger, John Lynch, Melissa Malloy, Kirsten McCory, Joey McGuire, William Phillips, Dana Rice, Eric Smiley, P.J. Perry, Telisa Steen and Laurie Winogrand.
Maggie Larrick is the director.
This show is not suitable for children ages 15 and younger due to mature themes.
Burien Little Theatre performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. in the theater at the Burien Community Center at Southwest 146th Street and Fourth Avenue Southwest.
General admission is $18 Fridays and Saturdays and $15 Sundays. Senior and student admission is $15 for all shows. On Five Buck Friday, April 11, admission is $5, with audience members welcome to donate more. Groups of 10 or more receive $3 off ticket prices when seats are reserved and paid a week in advance, except on Five Buck Friday.
