Meet Noel Gibb
Former Burien councilman and mayor.
He is busy changing the oil on a customer's car. He often does this when he is not busy explaining how the car wash works, when he is not busy fixing a tire or when he is not busy paying bills in the company he and wife Marjorie operate.
Does he miss the limelight of being Mayor of Burien?
" No, I enjoyed that but I never look back, just forward," Gibb said.
When I was chatting with him, the street noise on First South was a bedlam of fire engine sirens, aid-car sirens and Burien police car sirens plus horns and tires screeching.
He was casual about it. He said most of ii is headed to Highline Hospital a half mile away.
Meet Nikki and Caro
"Nikki" the poodle held by Cindy Leeson of N & R Shell at 1st Ave and 156th was having a great time being pampered while "Caro" the cat looked indifferent to the cuddling.
"Caro runs the place", said owner Noel Gibb, former Burien city councilman and mayor.
Caro was found weak, injured and hungry inside the wheel well of a rental car behind the station.
The Gibbs took the feline to a local vet and successfully nursed Caro back to health. Caro returned the favor by agreeing to a lifetime management contract.
