Broc Johnson of Todd Beamer highlighted local players' action at the state tournament held in Bellingham.
Johnson posted a 73 and a 74 for a total of 147, giving him second place in the Class 4A boys action.
Thomas Jefferson's Erik Jarvey turned in rounds of 78 and 76 for a 154 total.
Stacey Blunt of Decatur finished in a three-way tie for 11th in the girls competition. Blunt shot an 89 then improved to 80 for a two-day score of 169.

Girls tennis
Meghan Cassens of Decatur battled her way to a second place finish at the Class 4A state girls tennis tournament, losing her championship match to Christy Sipes of Gig Harbor, 6-2, 6-1.
Cassens opened with a 6-2, 6-0 win before winning, 6-2, 6-1, and 6-4, 6-1 to reach the final.
Gator teammate Sara Lin started off by posting a 6-3, 6-2 victory before taking a 6-4, 6-3 loss.
Averi Kitsch and Mackenzie Qualls of Thomas Jefferson battled back after starting off with a 6-2, 6-2 loss.
They started with a 6-4, 6-7 (6) win followed by a 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (5) victory. Their stay at state then ended with a 6-1, 6-0 loss, leaving them in fifth place.
Track and field
Sofia Malamura of Thomas Jefferson scored big in her senior postseason, taking first in the shot put at 41-2.25 and second in the discus at 125-9.
Federal Way's Jacqie Evenson took third in the 300-meter hurdles in 44.82 and Federal Way finished fifth in the girls 800-meter relay with a time of 1:44.00.
Federal Way's Jaleecia Roland was third in the high jump at 5-6.
Todd Beamer took second place as a team on the boys side with 38 points behind only the 50 of Heritage.
The Titans' lone win was a big one, as they won the 400 relay in 42.37.
Travis Koch, Duran Ward, Justin Drayer and Josh Waller made up the team.
Justin Englund of Decatur came in third in the 3,200 in 9:19.83 and Robert Shelby of Federal Way placed third in the 300 hurdles in 39.67.
Federal Way's Gregger Highberg took fifth in the 110 hurdles in 14.96, with Ward fifth in the 100 in 11.12 and TJ's Trenton Pinson placing fifth in the 400 in 50.41. Beamer's Marty Fuller reached 165-01 in the boys discus.
