The headlines today ask the question "IS BUSH RIGHT ON OIL DRILLING?"
The fact that anyone has to ask the question when gas is approaching $5.00 per gallon is telling in and of its self.
But as usual, Bush is late coming to the party and does not go far enough with his solutions or assurances that the environment will not be harmed. Not only should we be drilling off shore but we should be drilling in ANWAR, the Dakotas and every other domestic region for oil that was blocked by a Herculean effort by our own Senator Maria Cant "Vote Well."
More oil refineries should be built and existing well output should be increased. Denying Oil Companies access to our own energy sources under the guise of environmental concerns and opinions formed in the Sixties is without merit as is the belief that in 40 some years our oil workers have not upgraded or refined their processes to extract this commodity without damage to the environment.
I am sick and tired of having false statements repeated so often as they finally begin to sound truthful: like Global Warming or excuse me, Climate Change because the believers in this unproven thesis don't want to explain snow in July!
The Chinese who think we are stupid or feel the need to penalize ourselves for our wealth and prosperity are or soon will be drilling off our shores.
Meanwhile, OPEC members are laughing all the way to the bank while stopping off just briefly to order a jewel encrusted Multi Million Dollar Mercedes Benz.
Is Bush right? Of course, he is and if he's looking for a legacy this is it and it will replace the Democratic viewpoint that they are disappointed the increase in price came this quickly- not that it is wrong but too soon!
