Yes it is about time that this city "grows up," instead of continuing building far out. I think now, the price of gas will see to that.
My motive to write is that for years we have contemplated turning our rather large property into a multi-purpose building, but have been rejected. Still we are close to business and bus transportation, ideal for us seniors, surely more so for working people.
I envisioned a retirement building, or apartment building or even a professional building, to no avail, even a building lot has been rejected, still we are in the city next to a Safeway store, able to walk to three buses stations, and walk to all amenities this neighborhood has developed.
Any thoughts on this? So much of this city is still underdeveloped, I know, I walk a lot.
I believe there always will be what we call at our house, "The Holly Miller Syndrome," a person who absolutely refuses any change in the building code. Years ago, this house was purchased first with the intention of building an apartment house or condos, by the people before us - almost 50 years ago - and nothing has changed since. We certainly are open to any suggestions, as we are seniors now, and want to move on to seniors' quarters, but it would be nice to have those quarters built right here where we know our way around.
