Near 30th and Andover, a suspicious citizen reported two men taking pictures of a neighbor?s house from the porch. When officers questioned the pair, they said they were simply taking photos for a MySpace web page. But one of the men had an outstanding felony fugitive warrant and was booked into King County Jail. And in Arbor Heights, someone called 911 to report an obviously drunk man standing in the road throwing small rocks at a house. When some neighbor children came out to play, the citizen was worried and told them to go back inside. The man turned out to be a homeless sex offender. He was transported downtown.
Citizens reported that a man was walking down a street taking off his clothes and seemingly high on drugs. At one point he shattered a car window and then stood in the middle of the street, blocking drivers from passing. Officers booked the 24-year-old into King County Jail for investigation of property damage.
Witnesses said that an "intoxicated and agitated" man slammed into the rear of a car waiting at a Westwood stoplight but left quickly after giving the victim a scrap of paper with his contact information. Officers drove to his residence and watched as the suspect nearly hit a parked car and crashed into his own home as he pulled into the driveway. He was booked into King County Jail for DUI and for driving with a suspended license.
A young man had enough of his father's intoxicated tirades and threats toward both him and toward his mother. When dad charged at him, mom stepped in between them and the son got a gun. He told dad to leave the apartment, but dad refused and dared the young man to shoot him. When dad kept advancing, yelling, ?Shoot me,? son deliberately fired a shot into the ceiling. (He lives on the top floor?no one was injured.) Not surprisingly, dad left. The young man was booked into King County Jail for discharging a firearm. When contacted by phone, dad was uncooperative, refused to answer questions, and repeatedly swore at officers.
In Westwood, a man with a history of mental illness practically blockaded his neighbor?s front door by placing items in front of it. Officers spoke with the man who was extremely confused. His physician says he has been off his meds for several weeks. The suspect was told that if he trespassed again that he would be jailed. Concerned that the man?s behaviors are escalating, officers encouraged neighbors to call 911 if they become concerned for the man?s safety or for their own.
