"Zeus" doesn't take any lip about his new shoes. You can meet eccentric dogs (and dog owners) like Zeus at the K-9 Karnival September 13 at Steel Lake Park. Photo by Billie Hughes.
It's time for the annual K-9 Karnival at Steel Lake Park- that wacky annual event where pets and their people can show off, win contests and have fun.
It all starts at noon on Sept. 13 and concludes after the Silly Dog Show at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Your pooch can participate in a bone hunt, a radar run, bobbing for balls, and the popular "lap it up" ice cream eating contest.
Or win a prize for being the best dressed, having the happiest wag, being the most talkative, doing the best trick, being a good kisser, being best in show or looking most like you.
For those with two legs, there will be lots of vendor booths, fun food to eat, and plenty of dog-watching.
Admission is $7 for the first dog and $5 for each additional dog. All dogs must be leashed.
This is the 7th annual event presented by the Federal Way Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department.
Sponsors include: Janice's Critter Care, Sacajawea Healthcare for Pets, Hillrose Pet Resort, Biscuits, Crestwood Animal Hospital, Paws & Claws Pet Salon,
Allstar Canine Solutions, McMonigle Veterinary Hospital, animal Critical Care & Emergency Services, Simply Paws, Adorn Your Dog/Positive Approach Learning, Tails & No Tails, and The Doggy Tail'R.
