What does it take to get the Seattle Department of Transportation, Mayor Nickels and now Mr. Licata to see the "light"? (pun intended!) Instead of all the little Band-Aid approaches? Curb bulbs, red flags, changing signs - all help very little like "Peter and the Dyke" - not in the long haul though!!
We need more police enforcement. I know they are busy fighting "crime," but I look at this as assault with a deadly weapon! Remember "Tatsuo".
We want and need a push button stop light at 47th Southwest and Admiral Way. Also slow down the speed limit from 47th Southwest to 49th Southwest on Admiral to 20 miles. I heard on TV one neighborhood got the speed down to 20 miles because of the noise - I want to save lives for heaven's sake!!
I also think rubber speed bumps and maybe part-time crossing guards at these dangerous crosswalks (give some retired people jobs) and maybe more little girls won't have to be hit - if we really try to solve this problem for real.
I would really like to know the cost of our "so-called improvements" - not to forget the "decorative" crosswalk at California and Lander.
Let's get real and get something really helpful. My time is running out and I don't want to end up dead on Admiral Way.
