The City of Federal Way is proud to introduce Bryant Enge as its new Assistant City Manager/Chief Financial Officer effective Sept. 22.

Enge currently serves as the Director of Resource Management for the City of Seattle's Department of Transportation.

Enge, who has held this position for three years, oversees a staff of 70, a budget of $205 million and is responsible for the department's finance, accounting and information technology systems as well as field and facilities services and administrative support.

Previously, Enge was Director of Finance for the Office of Transportation at the City of Portland, Oregon.

He was also Director of Administration/CFO for the Metropolitan Exposition Recreation Commission in Portland.

Enge has experience as a facilities manager for the City of Portland and had a hand in the development of the Rose Garden Arena in addition to managing and developing a number of other major public facilities in the city.

Enge, 49, hails from Berkeley, Calif.

He earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting and mathematics from Oregon State University and a master of business administration in finance from the University of Oregon.

Enge is also active in the Government Finance Officers Association. He and his wife, Agnes, live in Bothell with their three children.

They will relocate to Federal Way.

On the personal side, Enge has been active with the Girl Scouts of America (Columbia River Council), coached a number of youth sports, umpires for the North Bothell Little League, and currently serves on the board of the Bothell Cougar Junior Football Association.

"We like the depth of Bryant's experience," said City Manager Neal Beets. "He brings a great set of skills and a passion for the work that we can immediately tap into. We are looking forward to him continuing the strong financial tradition that's been in place since Federal Way's incorporation, and we're also anxious to see him dive right in on our economic development projects and get involved with our facilities and transportation programs."
