Viaduct closure
For this inspection on Oct. 18 and 19, the Alaskan Way Viaduct and Battery Street Tunnel will be closed from 6 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. on Sunday. The closure has been extended to overnight on Saturday to allow crews to repair concrete panels in the southbound lanes, closer to the Spokane viaduct.

Saturday, Oct. 18, 9:30 a.m. - noon. Join WSDOT, King County and the City of Seattle for a 45-minute walking tour of the Alaskan Way Viaduct while it is closed to traffic for inspection. Participants will learn more about the history of Seattle's downtown waterfront, how we monitor and inspect the viaduct, construction that's already started, and upcoming work to replace the structure.
