Every year Michelle and Jaclyn Rolen of Ballard get a group of their friends together to have an annual pumpkin carving contest at Golden Gardens. There are categories like largest pumpkin (everyone brings their own), Freestyle or Stencil, and Most Creative with prizes like fall candles or Starbuck's coffee cards. Michelle makes a big pot of chili and the carving takes place at one of the picnic tables there at the park.
