Kennedy 56, Hazen 21
The Lancers continued their march through all of their Seamount League opponents by posting another high-scoring win Friday, Oct. 24.
Kennedy garnered 500 yards of total offense, including 385 yards rushing on 43 plays. The passing game accounted for 115 yards on 11 throws.
Tre Watson gained a net 144 yards on 16 carries and D’Mario Carter contributed a net 101 yards on seven carries.
James Holland of Hazen scored first at 7:14 left to go in the first quarter, but Peter Moffat of Kennedy caught an 8-yard pass from Nolan Washington and Zach Zielinski kicked his first of six conversions in as many attempts to tie it at 7-7. Washington then scored on a 31-yard run to make it 14-7 but Hazen tied it one more time on a 47-yard run by Elias Lunsford.
Watson then started the Lancers off on a streak when he caught an 18-yard pass from Jason Thompson with 8:12 to go in the second quarter to make it 21-14. D’Mario Carter came through with a 29-yard run for a touchdown at 6:11 to go before halftime and Moffat caught a 26-yard pass from Thompson with 4:27 remaining before intermission.
Watson punched the ball in from three yards out with 3:10 to play in the third quarter before scoring on a 39-yard run with five seconds left in the period. Thomas Morrell kicked his first of two PATs to boot.
Derick Lewis of the Lancers scored their final touchdown on a 3-yard run at 7:10 remaining in the fourth quarter and Lunsford punched in a 1-yard run with 4:29 left in the game.
Renton 40, Evergreen 8
The Wolverines took a lopsided loss against the Indians Saturday, Oct. 25.

Tyee’s shortage of players after having most suspended after a fight in a game against Renton resulted in a second-straight forfeit for the Totems.
Interlake 64, Mt. Rainier 28
The Rams dropped a wild and woolly game to Interlake last week.
Kennedy 62, Mt. Rainier 14
Kennedy scored 27 points at the end of the first quarter on its way to a 62-14 rout of the Rams.
Peter Moffat caught a 69-yard touchdown pass from Jason Thompson to start things off with 3:31 to go in the first quarter and Zach Zielenski kicked his first of three-straight extra points to make it 7-0.
Tre Watson was next to score, striking on a 44-yard run at the 2:09 mark. Watson then scored on a 26-yard pass from Thompson with 1:54 left.
Mount Rainier earned a spot on the scoreboard when Andre Defils connected with James Ezon on an 87-yard passing touchdown. A pass for a two-point conversion failed, however.
Watson then got the last word in for the Lancers, scoring on a 55-yard run. The kick for an extra point was blocked to leave the first quarter score at 27-6.
Kennedy continued the rally in the second quarter, with D’Mario Carter striking on a 57-yard run at the 11:44 mark. Thomas Morrell then came on and kicked his first of five PATs.
Watson scored at 6:56 to play in the first half on a 13-yard run.
L.J. Johnson sparked the third quarter portion of the attack, running the ball in from the 31-yard line at 9:55 to go.
Cyrus Laumatia punched in a 3-yard run at 7:02 to play and Dezmond Wilson scored on a 17-yard run at 1:39.
Mount Rainier scored again at 5:44 to play in the fourth quarter to bring the score to its final magin. Monroe Jones caught a 35-yard touchdown pass from Caleb Saulo and Jared Casias ran for a two-point conversion.
Kennedy finished with 498 total yards after finishing with 500 in its previous game.
Watson gained a net 127 yards on eight carries and Wilson picked up 82 on seven carries. Thompson completed three of four passes for 96 yards.
Casias of Mount Rainier ran for 71 yards on seven carries and Defils completed four of eight throws for 147 yards. James caught two for 98 yards and Jones caught three for 84.

The Wolverines took a lopsided loss to Lindbergh this past Thursday.
Volleyball
Kennedy 3, Mt. Rainier 0
The Lancers came through with a 25-11, 25-7, 25-21 victory over Mount Rainier in the Seamount League volleyball tournament finale last Tuesday. Ashley Enelika had 11 kills and five blocks for JFK. Emily Lockett had 16 assists and four aces and Katie Key led with 14 assists. Emily Jovanovich had nine kills and three blocks.
Hazen 3, Tyee 0
Tyee took a 25-9, 25-8, 25-18 loss to the Highlanders, who were led by the 10 kills and 13 aces of Alena Ross. Izabella Reid had 13 assists.
Highline 3, Evergreen 0
The Pirates emerged as 25-9, 25-14, 26-24 winners over the Wolverines.
Renton 3, Foster 1
Renton rallied for a 20-25, 25-12, 25-20, 25-19 victory against the Bulldogs.
Kennedy 3, Tyee 0
The Lancers dealt the Totems a 25-5, 25-12, 25-10 loss Saturday, Oct. 25. Lockett had 33 assists and Eneliko scored 15 kills.

Hazen fell victim to the Lancers, 25-10, 25-13, 25-12 last Monday, Oct. 27. Key had 12 assists and Lockett had 12 assists.
Girls soccer
Mt. Rainier 3, Lindbergh 3
The Rams and Eagles battled to a 3-3 tie Friday, Oct. 24.
Mt. Rainier 6, Renton 0
Kaity Brough scored two goals and one assist for Mount Rainier in its victory over Renton.
Cross country
Seamount League
Mount Rainier placed third in the boys action with 67 points ahead of the 127 of Foster and 136 of Kennedy. Highline came in seventh with 157. On the girls side, Mount Rainier was fourth with 73 points with Highline scoring 100 for fifth. Kennedy came in sixth with 146.
Michael Miller of Mount Rainier won the individual boys race with a time of 16:01.18. Teammate Steven Dolan secured seventh in 17:41.0 and Abdul Wahid Elmi of Foster finished 11th in 17:48.09. Devon Powell of the Rams was 14th in 17:52.41 and Matt Dorsett of JFK took 15th in 17:53.50.
Palca Mwenenesi of Mount Rainier placed second in the girls race in 20.59 and Highline’s Tracey Stolz was fourth in 21:28. Alison Urbanac of Mount Rainier was seventh in 22:18 and Danielle Sanchez of Highline finished 14th in 23.11.
