DREAM FOOTBALL. Jerry A. Hermanson has been getting autographs from famous football players and other luminaries for the past four years. "I only dropped the ball once," he said, "but we managed to fix it easily."
How much would you bid for a one of a kind football signed by a list of over 50 luminaries that includes Jerry Rice, Steve Largent, Dave Krieg, and even Paul Allen?
Jerry A. Hermanson has made it his mission over the past four years to get all these autographs on a special stainless steel football that was originally created and given to him by his father.
It will be auctioned off on Ebay beginning Dec. 3 (but ending Dec. 13).
"We hope to raise at least $25,000 through the auction but hope to see a much higher number," said Hermanson.
All proceeds of this auction will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Alaska, Montana, Northern Idaho and Washington.
The football's dimensions are: 14 inches tall, it measures 8 inches by 7 inches and weighs 4 pounds.
The winner of the auction will also get:
- Two 50-yard line charter section tickets to the Jets vs. Seahawks game on Dec. 21, plus 2 pregame sideline passes. This game will be Mike Holmgren's final game as Seahawk coach. Brett Favre is expected to play.
- Touch: Seahawks apparel designed, autographed and donated by actress Alyssa Milano.
- A gift certificate to F.X. McRory's
- A Seahawks 12th Man flag
Other autographs on the ball are from President Bill Clinton, Howie Long, Terry Bradshaw, and Joe Gibbs.
"So many people have supported this project, including all of the people who have been kind enough to sign the ball," said Hermanson. "I just want to thank everyone for their help, and hope that we can help a lot of kids through the auction. Good luck to everyone who bids."
