Here we go again! What a huge waste of very scarce money to even be considering this proposal. Do you guys think that everyone who voted it down last time as part of the Neighborhood Plan has since died?
Enforce the speed limits. Not only on Fauntleroy, but everywhere else as well. We teach people to break the law by looking the other way. After years of speeding and getting away with it (myself included) and ignoring cross walks, people have now "advanced" to running red lights, etc.
Several years ago, Liza Herbold in Councilman Licata's office asked for and received some very interesting information as to the cost of traffic enforcement - both patrol car and motorcycle. The information factored in the full cost - salary, car, retirement, support staff, etc.
Enforcement can be a financial plus for the city, not an expense. It could save lives. Why don't we do it? Re-striping is not the answer. Enforcement is.
