I have just read your article about the options being considered and funding for the viaduct replacement.
I would be interested to know if you are aware of an option that in my opinion is the best by far of all of the options out there being discussed. It is the Western Ave tunnel option.
The Western tunnel offers many benefits, (especially for West Seattle residents) such as lower cost, almost no disruption of traffic on the current viaduct until the tunnel is completed, allowing the seawall to be repaired at a later (more convenient?) time and fewer utilities need to be moved.
Have you heard of this option? I would like to see a write up in your paper to let more people know about the possiblilties that the Western tunnel present.
