The Sood building, which houses Mocore LLC and Viking Life-Saving Equipment, has been sold to local business man Jim Sherman for more than $1.7 million.
An 8,153 square foot Ballard industrial building has been purchased for $1.725 million by local business owner Jim Sherman.
Sherman owns DataPro International Inc., a computer and data cable supplier which operates in Ballard at 1144 N.W. 52nd St.
The building, located at 1116 N.W. 51st St. and built in 1996, currently houses Mocore LLC, the parent company of Matador Restaurants, and Viking Life-Saving Equipment.
It was sold by India-based property owner Vijay Sood, according to local realtor Barry Hawley, who handled the sale.
The lease for the current tenants expires in June 2012, and at that time, DataPro may move his business into the building, Sherman said.
The area is zoned General Industrial, which does not allow any residential uses expect for a caretakers space or an artist studio with a conditional use.
Hawley said not many buildings of this size are sold in Ballard.
"There's not much turnover, but there is some," he said.
