Blood Drive on December 27

What a wonderful Christmas gift - please help save lives by donating blood. Dec 27th, from 10am to noon, and 1until 4pm. Walk-ins are always welcome, but reservations are preferred. Donors must be in good health, at least 18 years old (16 or 17 with parental permission), and weigh at least 110 pounds. At the farmers market
This week will feature pears, frozen raspberries, lamb, chicken, pork, eggs, beef, duck, veal, goat, pate, fish, wine, fresh Christmas trees, baked goods, nut butters, wild mushrooms, fresh dairy products, soup, beans, beets, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, celery root, chard, fennel, garlic, greens, kale, kohlrabi, lettuce, leeks, onions, parsnips, potatoes, pumpkins, radishes, rutabagas, shallots, spinach, squash, turnips, apples, pears, pluots, nuts, dried fruits and veggies, fresh pasta, honey, bread, pastries, ciders, jam, jellies, preserves, sauces, and spreads.

Dollar Sale on items tagged in pink. Also 50 percent off Christmas items. All sales final. All proceeds go to fight cancer. The shop is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Closed Sunday (Christmas and New Years days). The ACS Discovery Shop needs volunteers for 3-4 hour shifts a week. Please call 937-7169.
Holiday help for the animal shelter
The Wash Dog

Through Dec. 24. Please bring items to donate to the Wash Dog, to benefit the King County Animal Shelter. For information on what to donate, go to www.kingcounty.gov/safety/AnimalServices/donate/animalwishlist.aspx. The Wash Dog will send you home with a treat for your dog when you bring in a donation.

Cat Sponsorship Holiday Cards: Not sure what to get that special animal lover in your life? How about sponsoring one of Purrfect Pals permanent feline residents in their name, by purchasing a Holiday Card with the cat's photo, wrapping it up and letting them open it. $25.
Holiday Pet Food Drive: There is a spike in the surrender rate of pets to shelters because of tough economic times. We can help these animals stay with their humans by donating pet food.
