Boys swimming
All-City meet
Rather than having a Decatur-Beamer and a Thomas Jefferson-Federal Way meet, the four teams decided to all get together for All-City action last Tuesday, Jan. 13.
Todd Beamer outscored its three Federal Way School District neighbors with 80 points and Decatur took second with 43. Thomas Jefferson came in with 40 and Federal Way finished fourth with 17.
Beamer’s Titans opened with Shane Clare, Dylan Chase, Costner McKenzie and Blake Jordan winning the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1 minute, 51.51 seconds before teammate Mitch Parker took the 200 freestyle in 2:13.95.
Jordan Gaspay of Thomas Jefferson won the 200 individual medley in 2:11.58 and Tanner Brotherton of Decatur won the 50 free in 23.23. Beamer’s Tommy Fraychineaud scored 197.80 points to win diving and Clare took the 100 butterfly for the Titans in 55.95.
Decatur’s Noah Johnson won the 100 free in 55.14 and Aaron Bower of Beamer took the 500 free in 6: 29.82.
The Beamer foursome of Clare, McKenzie, Jordan and Mitch Parker won the 200 free relay in 1:41.59 and Clare followed up by taking the 100 backstroke in 59.87.
Gaspay won the 100 breaststroke for the Raiders in 1:04.45 and the Titans’ 400 free relay won in 4:03.60. Parker, Aaron Bower, Max Vukas and Dylan Chase made up the team.

Puyallup 82, Decatur 75
Decatur came up short against the Vikings in a Saturday, Jan. 10 game.
Marcus Tibbs scored 26 points and Jerron Smith 25. Jordan McCloud tossed in 12.
Decatur 58, Beamer 50
Jerron Smith scored 16 points to pace the Gators in last Tuesday’s win over the Titans. Marcus Tibbs tossed in 15 and Jordan McCloud 10. Cam Schilling added eight.
Chase Hildebrandt led Todd Beamer with 13 points and Kevin Davis tallied 12. Vlad Aficiuc scored 10.
Kentridge 63, TJ 54
Thomas Jefferson was led by the 13 points of Eric Radford in last Tuesday’s loss as Xavyr Moss scored 12 and Cramer Doughty 11. Choul Gatbel and Ishmail Yusuf both contributed eight.
Federal Way 81, K-M 47
Andre Barrington came through with a 20-point outing as the Eagles won last Tuesday, Jan. 13. Michael Hale III scored 19 and Jeffrey Forbes hit 11.

Cramer Doughty hit 21 points for the Raiders in Thursday’s win. Moss added 12 and Radford 10.
Federal Way 71, A-R 53
The Eagles dealt the Ravens a loss Thursday, led by the 23 points of Cole Dickerson. Forbes tossed in 17, Hale 15 and Robert Christopher 10.

Todd Beamer also posted a victory Thursday, with Napa Mefi leading with 17 points. Davis hit 15, Aficiuc 12 and Hildebrandt nine.

Smith scored 24 points to lead the Gators to victory Thursday. Terrell Williams added 13 and McCloud 12.

The Gators lost a close, low-scoring game to the Vikings Saturday, Jan. 10.
Tenea Holcomb tallied 12 points and Yonnie Coleman nine.
Decatur 50, Beamer 38
Decatur bounced back to beat Beamer Tuesday, Jan. 13.
Holcomb hit 11 points for the Gators as Jade Woodke scored 10 and Yonnie Coleman and Sarah Isaac added nine each.
Shyla Akins and Lillian Hampton hit eight apiece for the Titans.

Jacqie Evenson finished with 14 points as the Eagles won Tuesday, Jan. 13. Tyshana Burgess tallied 12 and Brittany Barrington 10. Darah Huertes-Vining and Talia Walton added eight each.

Unique Taufa’asau scored 14 points as the Raiders posted a victory Tuesday, Jan. 13. Stacey Albrecht hit 12 and Hannah Kiyohara 11.
