When her boyfriend came home drunk, a woman grabbed his car keys so that he couldn't drive off again. She then locked him out of the house. Officers were called when he began kicking at the back door and throwing things around the yard. He agreed to go to a motel for the night to “rest his head.”
Around 11 a.m. , near the 7000 block of California Ave. S.W, a man tried to steal a woman's purse from her shoulder. When she resisted and yelled for help, he punched her in the neck and fled. The suspect was a white male in his twenties, about 6 feet 2 inches.
A man reports that while he sat using a public computer at the West Seattle Library, someone rifled through the pockets of his coat (which was lying nearby on the floor with some groceries) and stole his checks, VISA card, and bus pass.
A 20-year-old was cited for DUI after he was caught speeding down California Ave. at nearly 65 miles per hour early Sunday.
A 19-year-old didn't like his girlfriend talking with other men, so he pulled her from her home, hit her twice in the face with a closed fist and threatened her with an open knife. The victim was able to grab the boyfriend's cellphone, dial 911, and provide an address before the phone was ripped away. Boyfriend ended up in King County Jail for investigation of assault.
A South Park bar has repeatedly violated its liquor license by hiring live (and loud) bands to provide entertainment. Information has been forwarded to the prosecutor's office.
Medics had to deal with several attempted suicides by overdose this week, including a case in which a woman ingested a full bottle – 190 pills – of Tylenol PM.
A woman called 911 to report that her husband uses foul language, is rude to her, and that her kids are picking up his habits. Officers noted that no crime was committed but encouraged the man to take a walk to cool off before he and the wife try to resolve their issues.
When a 6-year-old told his parents that he had called 911, dad finally quit hitting mom and left the house. Officer found him in a nearby alley and booked him into King County Jail for investigation of domestic violence assault. Officers photographed mom's injuries before she was transported to Harborview for treatment.
As he sat in his car in the 9000 block of 18th S.W., a man heard a bang. A stranger walked up to his car door, said, “I am looking out for my mom, and if I have to circle around the block there will be a problem.” The victim called 911. Officers found a live 9mm round in the area. The suspect is a black male with an athletic build, about 5'11. He wore a blue and silver baseball cap and had been seen sitting in an older, white Chevrolet Caprice that was also parked on 18th S.W.
