Homosexuality is destructive

They’re at it again!
Last week our state senate, led by Sen. Joe McDermott, has voted to give the same rights reserved for married couples to homosexual couples who register as domestic partners. This is the same as taking a patented product and slapping another name on it.
The real goal as stated by Sen. Ed Murray is homosexual marriage. It’s interesting to note that both McDermott and Murray, who are prime sponsors of this bill, are admitted and practicing homosexuals. This sounds like a self serving conflict of interest to me.
In reality, what these and other sponsors of this bill are attempting to do, is to change the definition of marriage, which has been the union between men and women for all of human history, in every society and nation. Until recently, this has never been done before. Some may ask why is this a problem?
First of all, when you change the definition of something, you change what that something is. If I change the definition of a dog to include cats, then a dog now means something totally different. The result is a lie, a lie which ripples through our society from the rights and benefits that businesses give to those married, all the way to children who will then be taught that same-sex marriage is a normal and an acceptable alternative.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Secondly, nature teaches us that homosexuality is unnatural. Animals who engage in homosexual behavior are considered aberrant and it is looked upon as a negative and destructive trait. It is a fact that same-sex couples cannot naturally reproduce.
For reproduction, you need a male and a female. If you put a group of same-sex couples on an isolated island for a hundred years, at the end of that time you will just have death. Hence, homosexuals who want children will turn to adoption or artificial insemination.
If the definition of marriage is changed, same-sex couples will have equal adoption rights, denying these and other children of the benefit of either a mother or a father.
Thirdly, why should we mess around with something as foundational as marriage for the selfish indulgences of a few? Marriage is the foundation of every society, because it’s the foundation of the family. And over these last 40 years, we have seen a huge negative impact on the family through negative social changes. We don’t need to embark on some risky social experiment.
Lastly and most importantly, homosexuality is sin and, according to the bible, an abomination to God. (Leviticus 20:13, Romans 1:26-32 …)
God, as our creator, knows what works and what doesn’t, what is good and what is harmful. God calls those things that don’t work and are harmful sin. Homosexuality is one of those harmful and destructive sins.
One of the biggest lies being perpetrated is that people are born homosexual and can never change, “once a homosexual always a homosexual”. That is a lie. It’s true that we are all born sinners and homosexuality is one of those sins, but you don’t have to stay that way.
On several key things, the Bible is clear. That the price for sin is eternal spiritual death, which means hell for eternity. hat God in his love for us became a man in the person of Jesus Christ and died on a cross to pay the price for our sins, and that Jesus then rose from the dead and freely offers forgiveness and the gift of eternal life to all who will believe in him and receive him as savior and Lord.
When that happens, the bible says that a person is born again. He or she starts fresh, their sins are forgiven, and they are given a new nature by God. A nature that is not dominated by the sinful nature and is free to follow the ways of God. Thus, those once held captive by the sin of homosexuality or any other sin, are no longer held captive. They have been set free and are new people. This is why the bible says, “If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation, the old has gone and all things become new.”
What a great hope! So, if you have been trapped by the sin of homosexuality or any other sin for that matter, facing a future of hell, you don’t have to be. You can be set free with Jesus. Jesus never rejected anyone who humbly came to Him. Jesus said in John 6:37 (NKJV), “All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.”
I would like to encourage all who agree with my position to call your state representative and tell them to vote NO on SB 5688. Also, call Speaker of the House, Frank Chopp, and ask him to stop SB 5688 from getting though the House and into law. he future of our state and the lives of many are at stake.
