The Feedback Lounge, a new music-themed bar in the Morgan Junction, is scheduled to open this Saturday night, April 25, at 6 p.m.

New details including the food and bar menus can be found at the bar's new Web site.

The bar is located in the Beveridge Place's former home near California Avenue Southwest and Fauntleroy Way.

Co-owner Jeff Gilbert described the vision for the new establishment as “a rock bar…but nice.” Each of the three owners, Gilbert, Paul Larkin and Matt Johnson, have worked in the music industry in the past. Their passion for all different styles of rock music will be reflected in their new bar, they said.

The bar’s three 60 inch plasma screen televisions will play various music videos including live concerts at The Gorge. Gilbert has gotten a license to program the entertainment himself and promises to play everything from KISS to Frank Sinatra and certainly a lot of local music.

The Feedback Lounge will also boast a promising collection of rock memorabilia from collectors around the area and a display of rock photography.

Toward the back of the venue a satellite bar, named the “whammy bar” will be surrounded by a collection of very unique and unusual guitars.

And there are still more surprises in the works that Gilbert said he can’t reveal yet.

“Just wait till you see the walls," he said.

While music is the bar’s main theme, Gilbert and his partners have worked hard to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. After recently installing some new lighting Gilbert said his mouth hit the floor to see the room’s transformation.

“It’s a very sexy bar,” he said.

The three owners have been working since last May to completely renovate the space. Unhappy with the building’s existing small bathrooms, they have built completely new, larger ones. Unfortunately, that project stalled their opening a bit when a plumbing inspector informed them they would have to replace the old, corroding pipe system.

A new kitchen has also been installed so that the Feedback Lounge can offer a full menu. While their offerings may be simple, Gilbert promises no “greasy bar food” will be served. He says all food will be tasty and affordable.

About a month after they open he said they will likely begin offering lunch and breakfast on the weekends. Gilbert said he has partnered with local classic rock station KZOK to occasionally offer “Breakfast with the Beatles,” when they will only play the band’s music.

They have also replaced the Beveridge Place’s 18 foot bar with a new one, measuring 40 feet. Johnson, who has bartended at several restaurants in the Seattle, has narrowed down his hundreds of drink recipes to 15 that he promises no other bar in West Seattle will offer.

After its grand opening, the Feedback Lounge will be open Monday through Sunday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
