Taproot Theatre’s Acting Studio brings students back to school--not the classroom, but on stage.

The Acting Studio features classes for all ages and experience levels, for children as young as 4 to adults. This fall, the Acting Studio provides opportunities for students to build their toolbox of acting skills and experience the production process from beginning to end. New this season, students interested in musical theatre can learn from professionals in a small, intimate environment with Sing, Sing, Sing!, a class with sessions for all age groups.

Fall quarter runs Sept. 21 through Dec. 8. Registration is open now. Classes are held at Taproot Theatre (204 N. 85th St.) and Grace Fellowship Church (410 N.W. 62nd St.) in Ballard.

YOUTH CLASSES
 
Dramatic Adventures – Class Code: 09CFDA
Students will let their imaginations run wild as they create their own play using drama and movement. Family and friends are invited to the final class to see the show!
Two sessions: I, ages 4-6 years; II, ages 7-9 years

Youth Actors Workout – Class Code: 09CFYW
This class encourages beginning and advanced actors in the building and maturing of basic acting skills through the use of improvisational exercises and scene work.

Christmas Showcase – Class Code: 09CFCS
Students are offered a fun and exciting opportunity to be in a live production. Find out what the professionals go through, from first rehearsal to final production. (No experience necessary.)

Always wanted to learn the basics of singing for musical theatre? This introductory class is perfect for new musical theatre singers who’d like to gain skills, confidence and the building blocks of singing for the stage.

Saturdays, Oct. 3-Nov. 21 | Class meets at GFC
Ages 7-11: 12-12:55 p.m. (six student limit), eight weeks | $100
Recital Rehearsal: Saturday, Nov. 21, 11:30 a.m. Recital: Saturday, Nov. 21, 12:30 p.m.
Ages 12-17: 1-2:20 p.m. (five student limit), eight weeks | $150
Last day of class and recital will be combined with the adult class.

Improv(e) Your Business Skills! – Class Code: 09CFIM
Need the confidence to nail that interview? Want to brush up your presentation skills? Improv(e) your business acumen while enhancing your storytelling skills with two of Taproot’s improv greats: Kevin Brady and Rob Martin.

This is your chance for a fabulous performance opportunity. Adult actors will participate in the rehearsal process and performance of a one-act play to be presented on Taproot’s stage.
