Police Blotter Week of 1-04-10

On 42nd SW, a burglar took careful inventory of the goods to be stolen from the victim's home: Laptop computers? Check. Jewelry? Check. Credit cards? Check. Jar of pickles? Check.
A man who confessed to being in a hit and run accident on SW Jacobsen Rd. on Wednesday was also wanted on a $1,500 warrant for failing to appear on a forgery charge. He was booked into King County Jail for both the accident and the warrant.
A 30-year-old transient walked into a North Admiral restaurant and helped himself to some food from a customer's plate. When an employee was forced to physically escort him from the premises, the suspect threatened to shoot him between the eyes. The suspect was asked to leave two other bars and ended up at gas station, where he was found to be shoplifting some beverages. He was booked into King County Jail for investigation of harassment and theft.
On the 28th, in the 5900 block of Fauntleroy Way SW, a woman answered a knock on her door. A man barged in, threw her down, and began breaking chairs and bottles. At one point he began to choke the victim. When the victim tried to call 911, the suspect ripped the phone cord from the wall before running from the residence. The victim didn't know the suspect but says that he must know her husband: During the attack the man made remarks about dad not being allowed to see his kid. (Dad, by the way, is currently in jail.)
Sharp-eyed citizens called 911 Monday afternoon to report a man messing around with the door handles of cars in the 5900 block of 35th SW. Officers located the suspect in the 5400 block and took him into custody. He claimed to have just been released from Harborview for treatment of issues related to his crack addiction. He is currently under Department of Corrections supervision.
In the 1000 block of S. Donovan early Wednesday, a man kicked in the front door of a residence, waved a semi-automatic handgun around and demanded money and drugs. When the folks inside said they didn't have any, the suspect hit the male victim three times with the gun and then threatened to blow the residents' heads off. When the victims began to yell, “Call 911!”, the suspect ran from the home, jumped into a small red car and drove off eastbound. The male victim wonders if his own scruffy appearance might have led the suspect to think he is a drug dealer, since the same fellow has approached the victim on the street hoping to score narcotics.
Early Wednesday, an intoxicated woman called 911 from the 8900 block of 9th SW to report an assault by a gal pal. The 40-year-old victim, who was transported to Harborview for treatment, said that she and her 32-year-old friend had been drinking and began to “argue about a boy.” When officers went to the residence, the friend (“so intoxicated that she could barely stand” says the officer's report) denied that a fight had occurred. There was insufficient evidence for an arrest at the time (though there were some blood drops on the floor), but officers have recommended that the friend be charged with assault.
