The Herald received this humorous submission to our Tips@westseattleherald.com email address today. While the name is, shall we say "fishy" we thought it was amusing enough to share with you. It's regarding the "West Seattle Fishing Derby" that they say was held this past weekend.
"Tocs Dlod was able to land a record Land Shark for the Lake. “People had been catching them all day with hundreds but all I had was a $20” he said. The long time fisherman, and used to the perils of fishing for land sharks around Chicago, met his match with against the other West Seattleites in the Derby. Ed, his Brother in law, part of Lesser West Seattle Chamber of Commerce, said “we originally were going to fish the Lynnwood Derby, but once the rain moved in, West Seattle was the logical choice to entertain the visitor”. The Locals took it pretty hard, and asked that he not return, “Okay” was his response, as he left with the Trophy."
