The Ballard High School boys soccer team opened its conference season the same way it opened the nonconference season – with a 1-1 tie, this time against Roosevelt March 19.
For the fourth time this season, the Beavers were unable to score until late in the game, when Ryan Zemke tallied his first goal of the season in the 82nd minute.
Ballard's lead lasted for only a minute before Roosevelt's Tolga Dilek sent in the tying goal.
The Beavers are 0-0-1 in KingCo and 0-2-2 overall.
Ballard will look for its first win at 7:30 p.m. on March 23 at Interbay Stadium against Woodinville.
